Feline Batty!

Hi All!  I am sharing a card I created for Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #135 - Sketch Challenge.  I love making Halloween cards, but it seems this will be my last one for this year.  I already can't wait to see the new Halloween stamp sets that come out next year!  Lol!!

This is a 5"x 7" card.  I started it by ink blending the background with Distress Ink colors Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, and Black Soot around the edges.  This has become my favorite color combo for a Halloween night sky!  I love how vibrant the Distress Inks are!  After blending the background, I flicked some black paint and white gouache onto it for added texture.  Once the background had dried, I used Midnight Sparkle Kiss glitter paste with NND Flying Bats stencil.  I mounted my background on plain black cardstock, and also used the black cardstock for the bottom paper strip.  For the top paper strip, I applied Wilted Violet Distress Ink to smooth white cardstock, and then blended Black Soot around the edges.  I was originally going to stamp the sentiment on the black paper strip and white heat emboss it, but thought that would look too crowded.  I opted to stamp the sentiment in black pigment ink on the purple strip, and I'm glad I did!

Next, I used the largest smooth edged stitched circle from NND Circle Frames die set to cut out an off-white glitter moon.  I then stamped out the super cute Batty Newton image, colored him with Copic markers, and cut him out with the coordinating die.  I then used foam tape to adhere the moon and Newton to my card!

Copic colors used for Newton:
  • Y35, Y17, YR15, T1, T3, YR16 - stripes
  • Belly - Y19, Y17, YR15, T1, T3
  • Ears and Beans - R20, R32, R43
  • Nose - R20, R32
Bat Wings:
  • BG11, BG32, BG13, BG49, T1, T3

To finish off this card I added glossy accents to Newton's nose and beans.  I actually didn't add any additional glitter!  Between the flying glitter bats in the background and the glitter moon, this card seemed sparkly enough!  Thank you and I hope you enjoyed my card today!

Fab(BOO)lous Cat Witch

Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing a card I made for Whimsy Stamps 31 Nights of Halloween Challenge.  This cat is just so adorable and I couldn't wait to color her!

For this card I cut a piece of my favorite Copic friendly white cardstock to A2 size.  I then stamped the super cute Cat Witch image from Whimsy Stamps in the center, and colored her with Copic markers.  I used the largest die from Your Next Stamp Stitched Rectangle Frames die set to cut a piece of black glitter cardstock.  I used foam tape to pop up and adhere the frame to my card.  The sentiment is from Newton's Nook Designs Spooky Roundabout stamp set.  I used purple ink for the sentiment so it would match the witch hat!

Copic colors used for Cat:
  • Y35, Y17, YR15, YR16, T1, T3
  • Nose - R00, R11, R20

  • V01, V12, V04, V17

Hocus Purrrcus

Hi everybody!  I am sharing a card I created for Your Next Stamp Challenge #150 - Midnight.  All of the images in YNS Happy Meowoeen stamp set are just so cute and I love coloring them!

I started by die cutting a mask for the moon from Altenew's To the Moon die set.  I used purple tape to temporarily attach it to my background and began ink blending.  I used Distress Oxide Ink colors Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, and Picked Raspberry.  I then used Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink with Newton's Nook Designs Clouds stencil.  After inking the background, I flicked some black paint and white gouache onto it for some added texture.  After the background had dried, I removed the mask for the moon and stamped it with the coordinating moon stamp.

Next, I used the Spooky Scene die set from Hello Bluebird to die cut the border, hill, and trees out of plain black cardstock, and the grave stones out of black glitter cardstock.  I adhered them all to my card with liquid glue.

I stamped the super cute cat flying on a broomstick, and the adorable little mouse holding a broom from YNS Happy Meowoeen stamp set.  I colored the images with Copic markers and cut them out with their coordinating dies.  I white heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set, and then popped the images up with foam tape for some dimension!

  • Y35, Y17, YR15, YR16

Day of the Dead Oddball Girl

Hi everybody!  Today I am sharing a card I made for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Layer It Up.  This stamp is so cute and so much fun to color!

I started by die cutting a piece of my favorite Copic friendly white paper with the second largest Simon Says Stamp Wonky Rectangles die.  I then centered and stamped the super adorable Day of the Dead Oddball stamp by Stamping Bella, and colored her with Copic markers.  I mounted my image piece on black glitter cardstock.  I then went through some of my patterned papers to find a matching piece and die cut it with the largest die from SSS Wonky Rectangles die set.  I adhered my mounted image piece to the patterned paper and then mounted all my layers on the same black glitter cardstock I used previously.

Copic colors used for Dress and Flowers:

Candy Corn Dress Up

Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing a card I created for Whimsy Stamps 31 Nights of Halloween Challenge.  These candy corns are just so cute in their Halloween costumes!

I started by cutting a piece of purple glitter cardstock to 8 1/2" by 3 1/2".  I used Whimsy Stamps Slimline Stars Background Die to cut a piece of black cardstock, and adhered it to my purple glitter card base.  I then stamped out most of the candy corn images from Whimsy Stamps Candy Corn Dress Up stamp set and colored them with Copic markers.  I then fussy cut the images out, which I am not good at, so I apologize for the jagged edges!

I used a sentiment from Newton's Nook Designs Creepy Cameos stamp set, and white heat embossed it onto a die cut piece from Newton's Nook Designs Slimline Frames and Windows die set.  I also white embossed the edges of the sentiment piece so it would stand out a little more against the background.  I adhered the sentiment piece and candy corn images with foam tape for some dimension.

  • N0, N1

Trio of Halloween Tags

Hi All!  I made a trio of Halloween tags with some of the leftover roses I had colored for my Creepy Cameos card.  I didn't need nearly as many as I had anticipated for the card, and was very happy to be able to create these tags!  I am entering them into Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #134 - Color Challenge.  The colors are Orange, Purple, Yellow, and Black.  I am also entering Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Not A Card.

I had stamped out, colored, and die cut many of NND Roses for my last card so they were good to go!  I die cut three white tags and three black glitter tags using NND Fancy Edges Tag die.  I used the stitched fishtail die in that set to cut the bottom of the black glitter tags, and then adhered them to the white tags with liquid glue.  Unfortunately, the glitter is difficult to see in the pictures, but it has a great sparkle in person!  I stamped the sentiment from NND Creepy Cameos stamp set in black pigment ink and clear heat embossed.  I popped up the roses on foam tape for some dimension, and tied a ribbon on each tag that matches the largest rose.

Copic colors used for Flowers:
  • YR00, YR02, C3, C5
  • Y11, Y15, C3, C5
  • V20, V25, C3, C5
Leaves:
  • C3, C5, C7, C9

For a finishing touch on these tags I added a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Halloween Token and covered the hole with a copper nailhead sticker.  Thank you and I hope you enjoyed my post today!

Beautiful Bones Series - Card Three

Hello everyone!  Today I am sharing Card Three in my Beautiful Bones Series.  I am entering it into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Make a Card + Envelope.

I started this card by cutting an A2 size piece of white cardstock.  I used the largest die from Your Next Stamp Stitched Rectangle Frames die set to cut the purple glitter frame.  Next, I stamped one of the gorgeous flowers and leaves from SSS Look for the Rainbows stamp set, and stamped out one of the butterflies twice from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Flutter stamp set.  I colored the flower, leaves, and one wing of each butterfly with Copic markers, and cut them out with their coordinating dies.  I colored only one wing of each butterfly because I knew what I wanted this card to look like, and planned to cut the other wing off.

I used the frame and flower, without attaching anything, to help me get the alignment I wanted for the pelvis image from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Anatomy Chart stamp set, which I then stamped in black pigment ink.  Next, I adhered the frame and flower with foam tape for some dimension, and the leaves with liquid glue.  I then glued the bodies of the two butterflies together, adhered them to the flower, and bent the wing of the top butterfly forward for a fluttering look!

Copic colors used for Flower:
  • RV10, RV21, RV23, RV25
  • Y00, Y02, Y06, Y08
Leaves:
  • YG01, YG03, YG17, YG67
Butterfly:
  • V000, V12, V04, B02, B04
  • Body - C5

To finish off this card I added glitter and glossy accents to the flower center, glossy accents to the butterfly body, and a few raindrop crystals.  For the envelope, I stamped the femur image from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Anatomy Chart stamp set onto the back flap in silver ink.  Thank you and I hope you enjoyed my card today!  You can click here to check out my Beautiful Bones Card Series!

House Mouse Designs Scarecrow Copier

Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing a card I made for the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge Challenge #326 - Anything Goes with the option of Fall.

I started this card by die cutting a piece of white cardstock with the stitched rectangle frame from Newton's Nook Designs Frames and Flags die set.  I then stamped this super cute image of Monica coping a mouse scarecrow and colored it with Copic Markers.  I added the "Happy Fall!" sentiment from NND Fall Roundabout stamp set in brown pigment ink, and clear heat embossed for a shiny look.  Next, I found some fall patterned paper that went great with my image, so I die cut it using the scalloped rectangle frame from NND Frames and Flags die set.  I thought the chocolate glitter cardstock would go great with the image and patterned paper so I used it for my card base.

I worked a little in reverse on this card.  I wasn't sure what papers I would want to use with the image so I wanted to get it colored first before picking out the paper.  It worked out great because I think these papers went really well with the image!

Copic colors used for Monica:
  • Fur - T1, T3, T5
  • Skin - E50, E51
  • Ear, Nose, Cheek - E93
Scarecrow:
  • "Fur" - E53, E35, E57
  • "Skin" - E50, E51
  • Ear, Nose, Cheek - E93
  • Shirt - BV31, BV02, BV04

  • Hay - YR30, Y21, Y23, YR23
  • Stake - E31, E35, E57, E79

For finishing touches on this card I added glitter to the scarecrow's shirt, and glossy accents to their cute noses!  Thank you and I hope you enjoyed my card today!

Beautiful Bones Series - Card Two

Hi All!  I love making cards like the one I am sharing today, so I have decided to start a series of cards I am calling Beautiful Bones.  I don't know how often I will add to this series, or how many cards it will contain, but I do know that I have made a similar card to this previously, please click here to see Card One, and already have ideas for more.  I am in love with Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamp sets that contain a variety of bone and skeleton stamps.  I really enjoy stamping them out in black ink on white cardstock, and then coloring flower stamps to adorn the bones.  I am entering today's card into Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Spooky, and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Make a Card + Envelope.

I started this card by die cutting a piece of white cardstock with the largest die in SSS Wonky Rectangles die set.  I then stamped the cluster of flowers from SSS Look for the Rainbows stamp set onto Copic friendly white paper.  I used the same flower cluster on Beautiful Bones Card One.  It just worked perfectly for both!  I colored the flowers then cut them out with their coordinating die.

Before stamping the skull image from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Apothecary stamp set, I used the stamp itself and the cluster of flowers to figure out exactly where I wanted to place the stamp.  I then stamped the skull in black pigment ink, and popped up the flowers with foam tape.  I placed the "haunt" Tim Holtz Idea-ology Halloween Token in the corner, and covered the hole with a copper nailhead sticker.

Copic colors used for Flowers:
  • R00, R11, R20, R22
  • BV31, BV01, BV02, BV04
  • Y00, Y02, Y06, Y08
Leaves:
  • YG01, YG03, YG17
  • G21, G24, G94

I finished off this card by adding glitter to the leaves, and glitter and glossy accents to the flower centers.  For the envelope, I stamped the half skull image from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Anatomy Chart stamp set in one of the front corners in silver ink.  Thank you and I hope you enjoyed my card today!

Be-witch-ing Newton

Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing a card I made for Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #134 - Color Challenge.  The colors are Orange, Purple, Yellow, and Black.  I used the Witchy Newton stamp for the last color challenge as well, but I just love this stamp!  It is so much fun to color!

This is an A6 size card, which is 6 1/4" x 4 1/2".  I started by die cutting a mask for the moon from Altenew's To the Moon die set.  I used purple tape to temporarily attach it to my background and began ink blending.  I used Distress Oxide Ink colors Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, and Wilted Violet.  You can only see a little bit of the Wilted Violet since most of it got covered up with the hill and grass.  I then used Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink with NND Clouds stencil.  After inking the background, I flicked a little black paint onto it for some added texture.  After the background had dried, I removed the mask for the moon and stamped it with the coordinating moon stamp.

Next, I cut out the hill and grass with NND Land Borders dies.  I adhered them to my card with liquid glue and foam tape.  I stamped the house from NND Spooky Street stamp set with black pigment ink right onto my card, and then stamped the graveyard from the same set onto white cardstock, which I fussy cut.  I stamped out one of my favorite Newton images, Witchy Newton, and colored it with Copic markers.  I stamped the sentiment in embossing ink and white heat embossed.

After everything else was attached to the card, I was able to place the bats exactly where I wanted them.  I used the bat dies from NND Halloween Trio die set to cut out six glitter bats.  I adhered three down flat, then attached a second bat on top of each, just by the body, so I could bend the wings up to make the bats look in flight!

Copic colors used for Newton:
  • YR0000, YR000, YR20, YR31 - stripes
  • Ears - R00, R11, R20
  • Nose - R11
Hat and Boot:
  • V01, V12, V04, V17
  • Y17, YR04, YR07, YR09

For finishing touches on this card I added glitter to Newton's hat band and glossy accents to his nose.  I did use Copic color Y04 on the buttons and polka dots of the boot before adding yellow glitter Stickles on top!  Thank you and I hope you enjoyed my card today!
