Christmas Haul - Nailed It!

Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing a card I made for Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #135 - Sketch Challenge.  This girl looks like she is all done with her Christmas shopping!  I haven't even started!  Lol!!

This is a 5"x 7" card.  I started the background by inking the NND Houndstooth stencil on white cardstock with Silver ink.  I mounted my background on light green cardstock, and used the same cardstock for the bottom paper strip.  For the top paper strip, I used light pink cardstock on which I stamped the sentiment in slate gray ink.

Next, I used the largest smooth edged stitched circle from NND Circle Frames die set to cut out a piece of white cardstock.  I then stamped out the cute image of the girl with her hands full of gifts, and a couple of single gifts as well, from NND Christmas Haul stamp set.  I colored all of the images with Copic markers, and cut them out with their coordinating dies.  I used foam tape to adhere the stitched circle, girl, and gifts to my card!

Copic colors used for Gifts:
  • V0000, V000, V01, V04
  • RV0000, RV000, RV00, RV02
  • Y0000, Y000, Y00, Y02, Y06
  • G0000, G000, G00, G02
  • B0000, B000, B00, B01, B02

Girl:
  • Skirt - R20, R22, R14
  • Skirt and Shoes - BV31, BV02, BV04

For finishing touches on this card I added glitter with a glitter pen, a little bit of glossy accents, and a few iridescent crystals for some extra bling!  Thank you and I hope you enjoyed my card today!

Autumn Newton

Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing a card I created for Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #135 - Sketch Challenge.  I thought this stamp and stencil went perfectly together so I had to create a card with them!

This is a 5"x 7" card.  I started the background by inking the NND Falling Leaves stencil on Kraft paper with Distress Oxide Inks Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, and Barn Door.  I mounted my background on chocolate color glitter cardstock, and used the same cardstock for the bottom paper strip.  For the top paper strip, I used an Autumn orange color glitter cardstock.

Next, I used the largest smooth edged stitched circle from NND Circle Frames die set to cut out a piece of white cardstock.  I then stamped out the adorable image of Newton playing in a pile of leaves, and a few single leaves as well from NND Autumn Newton stamp set.  I colored all of the images with Copic markers, and cut them out with their coordinating dies.  I stamped the sentiment in brown pigment ink and clear heat embossed.  I used foam tape to adhere the stitched circle, Newton, and falling leaves to my card!

Copic colors used for Newton:
  • YR0000, YR000, YR20, T1, YR31 - stripes
  • Ears - R00, R11, R20
  • R11
Leaves:
  • Y08, Y17, YR04, YR07
  • YR04, YR07, YR09, R05, R27, R46

To finish off this card I added glitter to the falling leaves and glossy accents on Newton's nose!  Thank you and I hope you enjoyed my card today!

Feline Batty!

Hi All!  I am sharing a card I created for Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #135 - Sketch Challenge.  I love making Halloween cards, but it seems this will be my last one for this year.  I already can't wait to see the new Halloween stamp sets that come out next year!  Lol!!

This is a 5"x 7" card.  I started it by ink blending the background with Distress Ink colors Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, and Black Soot around the edges.  This has become my favorite color combo for a Halloween night sky!  I love how vibrant the Distress Inks are!  After blending the background, I flicked some black paint and white gouache onto it for added texture.  Once the background had dried, I used Midnight Sparkle Kiss glitter paste with NND Flying Bats stencil.  I mounted my background on plain black cardstock, and also used the black cardstock for the bottom paper strip.  For the top paper strip, I applied Wilted Violet Distress Ink to smooth white cardstock, and then blended Black Soot around the edges.  I was originally going to stamp the sentiment on the black paper strip and white heat emboss it, but thought that would look too crowded.  I opted to stamp the sentiment in black pigment ink on the purple strip, and I'm glad I did!

Next, I used the largest smooth edged stitched circle from NND Circle Frames die set to cut out an off-white glitter moon.  I then stamped out the super cute Batty Newton image, colored him with Copic markers, and cut him out with the coordinating die.  I then used foam tape to adhere the moon and Newton to my card!

Copic colors used for Newton:
  • Y35, Y17, YR15, T1, T3, YR16 - stripes
  • Belly - Y19, Y17, YR15, T1, T3
  • Ears and Beans - R20, R32, R43
  • Nose - R20, R32
Bat Wings:
  • BG11, BG32, BG13, BG49, T1, T3

To finish off this card I added glossy accents to Newton's nose and beans.  I actually didn't add any additional glitter!  Between the flying glitter bats in the background and the glitter moon, this card seemed sparkly enough!  Thank you and I hope you enjoyed my card today!

Witchy Newton - Best Witches

Hi everyone!  This is my second post for today.  Here is another card for Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #131 - Color Challenge.  The colors are Purple, Orange, White, and Teal.  I just love those colors together!

I started my background off by blending Distress Oxide Inks Seedless Preserves, Wilted Violet, and Peacock Feathers.  I then die cut the ink blended panel with the postage stamp die from NND Framework die set.  Next, I used NND Ghosts stencil with Glow in the Dark Glitter Glaze, and adhered that panel to purple glitter card stock with liquid glue.  This was my first time using the Glow in the Dark Glitter Glaze, and I love it!!  It is perfect for Halloween cards!

I used NND Circle Frames die to cut out a piece of teal card stock, which I adhered to the center of my card, after adding a strip of purple glitter card stock across the center of the card as well.  I stamped the sentiment in black pigment ink and clear heat embossed for a shiny look!  I then stamped the super awesome Witchy Newton stamp and colored it with Copic markers.  I just love that stamp!  It is definitely one of my Halloween favorites!  After coloring, I cut my image out with the coordinating die and popped it up with foam tape for some dimension!

Copic Colors used for Newton:
  • Y35, Y17, YR15, YR16 - stripes
  • Ears - R00, R11, R20
  • Nose - R11
Hat and Boot:
  • V01, V12, V04, V17
  • BG11, BG23, BG13, BG49

To finish off this card I used the bat dies from NND Halloween Trio die set to cut out two of each bat.  I glued one of each bat down, and the other with the wings up to look like they are flying.  I added glitter to Newton's hat band, glossy accents to his nose, and Unicorn glitter Stickles to the polka dots and buttons on the boot.  This is certainly a very fun and glittery card!  Thank you and I hope you enjoyed both of my cards today!
