MFT 2020 Card Design Superstar - Clean and Simple

 Hi All!  This is my first of three posts today, as I have completed all of my entries for the My Favorite Things 2020 Card Design Superstar.  Here is my card for the Clean and Simple category.

For this card I used the largest of the MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die-namics to cut out the blue card stock, and the second largest to die cut Copic friendly white paper.  Since this is a clean and simple design, I stamped the adorable penguin from the MFT Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes stamp set right onto my die cut rectangle.  I know he's a penguin, but I really wanted to color him blue!  I colored my image with Copic markers, and stamped the sentiment in black pigment ink, then clear heat embossed for some shine!  I then popped up the rectangle with colored image on foam tape for a little dimension!

Newton's Costume Party Slimline Card

 Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing another Halloween card I made for Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #131 - Color Challenge.  The colors are Purple, Orange, White, and Teal.  It seems I have been into making Halloween cards lately! 

I started this card by cutting a piece of teal glitter card stock to 8 1/2" by 3 1/2".  I used the scalloped slimline die from Newton's Nook Designs Slimline Frames and Portholes die set to cut a piece of white card stock on which I blended Distress Oxide Ink colors Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, and Seedless Preserves.  I then used Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves with NND new Spiderweb stencil.  I used liquid glue to adhere the ink blended panel to the teal glitter card stock.  Next, I used the Portholes die to cut another piece of teal glitter card stock which I attached to the ink blended panel with foam tape for some dimension.

I then stamped out my super cute images from the Newton's Costume party stamp set, and the now retired, Boo Crew stamp set.  I had stamped out a bunch of candies from the NND Hoppy Halloween stamp set when I made the Hoppy Halloween Slimline card, and had enough left over to use on this card as well!  I colored all of the images with Copic markers and cut them out with their coordinating dies, except for the Boo Crew images, which I fussy cut.  After figuring out the placement for each image, I stamped the sentiments with black pigment ink, then attached my images with liquid glue and foam tape.

House Mouse Designs - Pine Carolers

 Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing a card I made for the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #323 - Anything Goes with the option of Christmas.  I am also entering this card into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Stamp It!  I really can't believe Christmas is only a few months away!  

I started by die cutting the largest of the Wrapped Stitched Rectangles from Memory Box out of Copic friendly white paper.  I then stamped the super cute House Mouse Designs stamp, Pine Carolers featuring Amanda, Monica, and Muzzy, onto the paper and colored the image with Copic markers.  This is a large and beautiful image!  After I finished coloring, I mounted my card on red glitter card stock.

Witchy Newton - Best Witches

 Hi everyone!  This is my second post for today.  Here is another card for Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #131 - Color Challenge.  The colors are Purple, Orange, White, and Teal.  I just love those colors together!

I started my background off by blending Distress Oxide Inks Seedless Preserves, Wilted Violet, and Peacock Feathers.  I then die cut the ink blended panel with the postage stamp die from NND Framework die set.  Next, I used NND Ghosts stencil with Glow in the Dark Glitter Glaze, and adhered that panel to purple glitter card stock with liquid glue.  This was my first time using the Glow in the Dark Glitter Glaze, and I love it!!  It is perfect for Halloween cards!

I used NND Circle Frames die to cut out a piece of teal card stock, which I adhered to the center of my card, after adding a strip of purple glitter card stock across the center of the card as well.  I stamped the sentiment in black pigment ink and clear heat embossed for a shiny look!  I then stamped the super awesome Witchy Newton stamp and colored it with Copic markers.  I just love that stamp!  It is definitely one of my Halloween favorites!  After coloring, I cut my image out with the coordinating die and popped it up with foam tape for some dimension!

To finish off this card I used the bat dies from NND Halloween Trio die set to cut out two of each bat.  I glued one of each bat down, and the other with the wings up to look like they are flying.  I added glitter to Newton's hat band, glossy accents to his nose, and Unicorn glitter Stickles to the polka dots and buttons on the boot.  This is certainly a very fun and glittery card!  Thank you and I hope you enjoyed both of my cards today!           

Hoppy Halloween Slimline Card

 Hi All!  Today I am sharing a card I made for Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #131 - Color Challenge.  The colors are Purple, Orange, White, and Teal.  What a great color combo!

I started this card off by cutting a piece of purple glitter card stock to 8 1/2" x 3 1/2".  I used the slimline scalloped frame from NND Slimline Frames and Portholes die set to cut the teal card stock, which I attached to the purple glitter card base with liquid glue.  I then used NND Slimline Frames and Windows die set to cut out the purple glitter windows which I adhered to the teal card stock with foam tape.

Next, I stamped out the super cute images from NND Hoppy Halloween stamp set, along with the pumpkin top and crown from Newton's Costume Party stamp set, colored them all with Copic markers, and cut them out with their coordinating dies.  I wanted the bunny in the middle window to look like he is holding the lollipop so I cut a slit by his left paw and inserted the lollipop stick. After figuring out the placement for each image, I stamped the "hoppy Halloween!" sentiment in black pigment ink.  I then used foam tape to pop up the bunnies and their candies!  I like to figure out the placement for each image, remove them from my card, stamp the sentiment, then adhere my images.  I am so afraid of getting ink on the images I just worked so hard on coloring!  Sometimes I even take a quick pic with my cell phone so I don't forget my image placement!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 504

 Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing a card I made for My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 504.

To start this card, I cut the pink and yellow gingham strips of paper from MFT Petite Gingham Paper Pad.  After cutting a fishtail banner, I used Distress Oxide Inks Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass to stencil the clouds with MFT Rolling Clouds stencil.  I then stamped my sentiment in gray pigment ink and used clear embossing powder for some shine!  

Next, stamped this super cute image from MFT Sky-High Friends stamp set and colored it with Copic markers.  I cut it out with the coordinating die and popped it up with foam tape for some dimension!

SSS Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

 Hi everybody!  Today I am sharing a super fun and glittery shaker card I made for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.  I am so happy because I was able to use my fluorescent Copic markers again for this card!  The sugar skulls from the new Whimsy Stamps Sugar Skulls stamp set are perfect to use them with!  

If you are like me, then you HAD to get the fluorescent Copics because they are so bright and beautiful!  After I bought them though, I found myself wondering what I could use them on.  I am getting better at finding stamps I can use them with, and am going to try my best to keep bringing you examples of cards using the fluorescent Copics.  If you would like to see cards I have previously made with them, please click here and here.  Now, on to today's card!  

For the background I used the awesome new Newton's Nook Design's Spiderweb stencil with purple glitter paste on black paper.  I set that aside to dry, and used the second largest die from My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle Frames die set to cut out the purple glitter frame, and black paper for the sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment from the Sugar Skulls stamp set with embossing ink and white heat embossed it.  After the spiderweb was dry, I used liquid glue to adhere the sentiment piece to the background piece.  I attached a piece of acetate to the purple glitter frame and dabbed it with a dryer sheet to help avoid static.  After putting the sequins down, I used two layers of foam tape around the frame, and adhered it to my card base.  

With the shaker complete, I stamped two of the super cool sugar skull images with black dye ink on Copic friendly white paper.  I left stamps in place in my stamp positioning tool, and colored the images with the fluorescent Copics, and a couple of grays for shadowing.  After I was done coloring, I re-stamped the images with black pigment ink and clear heat embossed them.  I fussy cut the skulls out and attached them to my card using liquid glue and foam tape.  Since the black pigment ink is so dark, it really makes the fluorescent colors pop!

This may be a surprise, but I actually didn't add anymore glitter to this card!  Between the purple glitter border and frame, and purple glitter spiderweb, I figured this card was glittery enough!  The fluorescent Copics are so much fun to create with that I hope I was able to inspire you to give yours a try.  Thank you and I hope you have a great day!
