MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 501

Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing a card I created for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 501.

For the background panel I adhered a piece of white card stock to silver glitter card stock, then cut four strips of silver glitter card stock and attached them to the white card with liquid glue.  I then silver heat embossed the sentiment, "Wishing You the Sweetest Birthday Ever!" from MFT Pawty Time stamp set.

Next, I stamped the super cute puppy with the gift image also from MFT Pawty Time stamp set and colored it with Copic markers.  I cut it out with the coordinating die, and popped it up on my card with foam tape for some dimension!

Copic Colors for Pup:
  • E50, E51, E53, E11, E93 - cheeks
  • BV31, BV02, BV04
  • YR000, R02, R22
Gift:
  • YG01, YG03, YG06, YG17
  • RV10, RV13, RV14
I finished off this card with some glitter on Pup's scarf, hat, and the gift bow.  I added glossy accents to Pup's cute little nose and mouth, and a few silver confetti pieces.  Thank you and I hope you enjoyed my card today!

Spooky Skeletons Slimline Card

Hello everyone!  Today I am sharing a card I made for Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #129 - Sketch Challenge.  I used the fluorescent Copic markers to create this fun Halloween card!  If you would like to see my previous post featuring fluorescent Copics please click here.
I started creating the background by blending Distress Oxide Inks Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, and Black Soot.  I then added a tiny bit of water to some white gouache and flicked it onto my inked panel to resemble a starry sky.  Next, I die cut a piece of black glitter card stock using Newton's Nook Designs portholes die from the Slimline Frames and Portholes die set.

As my sky background was drying, I stamped the images from NND Spooky Skeletons stamp set with dye ink.  I left the stamps in place in my stamp positioning tool while I colored the images with the bright and gorgeous fluorescent Copic markers!  After I was finished coloring, I re-stamped my images with black pigment ink and clear heat embossed them for a shiny look.  I then die cut them out with the coordinating die set.  Since the black pigment ink is so dark, using it with the fluorescent Copics really makes the colors pop!

After my sky background was dry, I attached it to a piece of black glitter card stock for a border, and then attached the black glitter portholes to my sky background with foam tape.  After figuring out the placement of my skeletons, I stamped the sentiments and images from NND Spooky Street stamp set with black pigment ink.  I adhered the skeletons in place with liquid glue and foam tape.

Copic colors used:
  • FRV1, FYR1, FY1, FYG1, FV2, FYG2, FBG2, FB2
I had a lot of fun making this card and really enjoyed using the fluorescent Copic markers.  I hope to bring you more cards featuring these markers in the future, and I hope I was able to inspire you to get your fluorescent Copics out and have fun with them!

MFT Summer School Day 5 - White Space

Hi everyone!  My Favorite Things is having their Summer School series and here is my entry for Day 5 - White Space.  Have you seen MFT selfie stamps?  They are so fun and you could even make a whole series of cards with them!
For my card today, I die cut a white card base using the largest die in the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles die set.  I stamped the parrot image from the MFT Picture Perfect Party Animals stamp set and colored it with Copic markers.  I then die cut the image using the MFT Selfie Square die, and popped it up on my white card base with foam tape for some dimension.

I stamped my sentiment in black pigment ink and used clear embossing powder for a shiny look!
Copic colors used for Parrots:
  • BG11, BG23, BG13, BG15
  • YG01, YG03, YG06, YG17
  • RV13, RV14, RV25, RV29
  • Y00, Y02, Y06, Y08

MFT Summer School Day 4 - Ombre

Hello everyone!  My Favorite Things is having their Summer School series and here is my entry for Day 4 - Ombre.

I started my Ombre background panel by blending Distress Oxide Inks Tumbled Glass, Broken China, and Faded Jeans.  When I was done blending, I added a tiny bit of water to some white gouache and flicked it onto the background panel for some texture.

As my background panel was drying, I die cut Simon Says Stamp Heart Mandala out of white glitter card stock.  I die cut my sentiment out of aqua glitter card stock, and the shadow out of vellum.  I used liquid glue to adhere the Heart Mandala piece to the background panel.  Using foam tape, I popped the sentiment up for some dimension.

This card is so sparkly and beautiful it is great for any occasion, but when I was finished, it did remind me of Winter!  It was fast and easy to create, and would make an elegant Christmas card!

MFT Summer School Day 3 - Symmetry

Hi everyone!  Did you have to get the fluorescent Copic markers like I did because they are so bright and beautiful, but now you aren't quite sure what to color with them?  This card was fun to create and also makes use of those bright, beautiful markers!  Here is my entry into the My Favorite Things Summer School series Day 3 - Symmetry.

For this card I stamped the heart image from the Simon Says Stamp Center Cut Heart background stamp with dye ink, leaving the stamp in place in my stamp positioning tool.  After coloring the heart with the fluorescent Copic markers, I then re-stamped my image with black pigment ink, which I clear heat embossed for a shiny look!  Using the black pigment ink also makes the lines nice and dark so when the heart was completed, it reminded me of a stained glass window.  I fussy cut the heart and popped it up with foam tape on a plain white background panel for some dimension!

I die cut the sentiment three times, twice with white card stock, and once with the pink glitter card stock.  I used liquid glue to adhere the three layers together and to attach the sentiment to the card base.

Copic colors used:
  • FRV1, FYR1, FY1, FYG1, FV2, FYG2, FBG2, FB2
To finish off this card I added a tiny bit of glitter with a glitter pen on the two pink hearts within the big heart.  I also added the crystals next to the sentiment for some more symmetry since my sentiment itself is not very symmetrical!  This card was easy and fun to make.  I especially enjoyed using the fluorescent Copic markers, and I hope I was able to inspire you to use yours as well!

MFT Summer School Day 2 - Rainbow

Hello everyone!  My Favorite Things is having their Summer School series and here is my card for Day 2 - Rainbow.

For my background I used Newton's Nook Designs Cloudy Sky stencil with my favorite glitter paste on a piece of shimmery blue card stock.  I set my background aside to dry and stamped the super cute image from My Favorite Things Best Adventure Bears stamp set onto Copic friendly white paper.  I colored the image with Copic markers, then die cut it out with the coordinating die set.  I used the MFT Starburst Sentiment Strips banner die to cut out a black banner and white heat embossed my sentiment.  I used foam tape to pop up my image and sentiment strip.

Copic Colors used for Bears:
  • E13, E15, E25
  • E50, E51, E53, E11, for cheeks - E93
Red:
  • R05, R24, R27, R46
