Inky Paws Challenge #142 - Use Watercolors Reminder

 Hi everybody!  Don't forget you have until Friday, February 26th to get your entries into Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge for a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs online shop!  This is Inky Paws Challenge #142 - Use Watercolors!

To start this card I die cut a piece of watercolor cardstock using the scalloped edge die from NND Slimline Frames and Portholes die set.  I used Mission Gold watercolors to create a galaxy background, then flicked white gouache mixed with a tiny bit of water on the background to create the stars.  I die cut a hill and grass using NND Land Borders die set, which I also used watercolors on.  

Next, I stamped the super cute images from NND Cosmic Newton stamp set onto smooth white cardstock with black pigment ink and clear heat embossed.  I colored all of the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, and cut them out with the coordinating die set.  

I used liquid glue to adhere the galaxy background to a black shimmer cardbase, and to adhere the hill to the background as well.  I stamped the sentiment in black pigment ink and clear heat embossed.  I then attached the grass to my background with foam tape.  I used foam tape to pop up all of the kitty images, and liquid glue to attach the stars and planet.

• Newton - Pale Orange, Light Brown
• Nose and Ears - Blush
• Chest - Pale Gray
• Collar - Cobalt Blue
• Telescope - Pink, Gray, Light Blue
• Stand - Beige, Light Brown

Rocket Ship Newton:

• Newton - Pale Orange, Mustard
• Nose, Ears, Cheeks - Tea Rose
• Rocket Ship - May Green, Pink, Gray, Yellow, Orange

Astronaut Newton:

• Newton - Pale Orange, Beige
• Nose and Cheeks - Tea Rose
• Ears - Tea Rose, Blush
• Suit - Violet, Pink, Gray, Orange, Red, Yellow, Persian Green, Light Blue
• Helmet - Light Blue

Stars:

• Yellow and Orange 

Planet:

• Red

For being a novice with Zigs and Watercolors I was super happy with the way this card came out!  All I did for a finishing touch was add some glitter to the stars.  Now it's time to get your paws inky creating a project using Watercolors and your Newton's Nook Designs products.  Make sure to link up to the Inky Paws Challenge!  Hope to see you there!
