Inky Paws Challenge #142 - Use Watercolors

Hi everyone!  We have a new Inky Paws Theme Challenge for you this week!  It is to Use Watercolors!  I am so excited about this challenge because it was a challenge for me as well.  I love my Copics, but using watercolors for the cards in this challenge have made me want to use them even more now!  I already have planned more projects using them.  So whether you already love using watercolors, or it is a challenge for you as well, please join us over on the Inky Paws Challenge blog!  You have until Friday, February 26th to get your entries in and have a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs online shop!

Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #142 - Use Watercolors

Inky Paws Challenge Theme Challenge - Use Watercolors - Newton's Mug stamp and die set, Love Bites stamp and die set, Pawprints stencil, Frames Squared die set, Frames and Flags die set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

To start this card I used the largest stitched square die to cut the smooth white cardstock, and the smaller stitched square die to cut a piece of kraft cardstock, both from NND Frames Squared die set.  I then used NND Pawprints stencil on the white cardstock with pink and blue pearl watercolors, combining them in the center to create the purple, and set it aside to dry.

Next, I stamped the super cute image of Newton, and the coffee beans, from the new NND Newton's Mug stamp set.  I also stamped the muffin image from NND Love Bites stamp set.  I stamped all the images in brown pigment ink and clear heat embossed.  I colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and cut them out with their coordinating dies.  I used a little flower image from NND Happy Little Thoughts stamp set to create the flowers on the mug.

I used a banner die from NND Frames and Flags die set to cut out a piece of white cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from NND Newton's Mug stamp set in brown pigment ink and clear heat embossed.  I inked the edges of my cardbase, die cut kraft square, and sentiment banner all with brown pigment ink.

After the pawprints had dried, I assembled my card.  I adhered the card layers together with tape runner, attached the coffee beans with liquid glue, Newton in his mug and the sentiment banner with thin foam tape, and the muffin with regular thickness foam tape.
