Hi All! Don't forget you have until Friday, January 15th to get your entries into Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge and have a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs online shop! This is Inky Paws Challenge #139 - Cozy Winter Theme.
Who doesn't want to be in their favorite chair reading a good book with their best furry friends on a snowy winter day? I sure do! To create the window for this card I cut a piece of smooth cardstock to 3 1/4" x 3 7/8" and blended Distress Oxide Inks Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, and Cracked Pistachio. I then used NND Petite Snow stencil with my favorite glitter paste and set it aside to dry. I used NND Forest Scene Builder die set and NND Land Borders die set to cut out white glitter cardstock for a snowy scene. I couldn't help but adding in the red cardinal! After the glitter paste snow was dry, I adhered the hill, trees, and cardinal. I cut 3/8" strips to create a window frame which I adhered to my scene with foam tape. I used liquid glue to attach the window scene to the scalloped teal cardstock which I had die cut using NND Frames and Flags die set.
Next, I stamped out the super cute NND image, A Cozy Day In, in dye ink and colored it with Copic markers. I left the stamp in place in my stamp positioning tool so after coloring I could re-stamp in pigment ink and clear heat emboss. I am not great at fussy cutting and I find that it helps when I have the little embossed edge on my image.
After much debate, I decided on a medium gray cardstock for the card base. I cut it to A2 size, inked the edges with gray ink, and adhered the scalloped teal cardstock with window scene. I used NND Frames and Flags die set and the same medium gray cardstock to cut a banner for the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment in black pigment ink and clear embossed. I inked the edges of the sentiment banner with gray ink as well and attached it to my card. I then used a combination of foam tape and liquid glue to adhere the colored image to my card.
