25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi All!  Today I am sharing two tags I created for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags Challenge and for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Christmas Tag.  I was inspired to create these two tags by Lin and Kath that were featured with Simon Says Stamp on Day 2 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags.

I started by blending the backgrounds on Tim Holtz Distress Mixed Media Heavystock Tags.  I had two blends I wanted to try, so the tag on the left with the pink gnome is blended with Distress Oxide Inks Speckled Egg, Broken China, and Cracked Pistachio.  The tag on the right with the red and green gnome is blended with Distress Oxide Inks Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, and Cracked Pistachio.  After the backgrounds were blended, I used Newton's Nook Designs Petite Snow stencil with my favorite glitter paste, Frosty Sparkle Kiss.  I then used NND Land Borders die and Forest Scene Builder, to cut out the snowy hills and trees for each tag from white glitter cardstock.  I used NND Forest Scene Builder to die cut the birds and squirrels for each tag as well.  For the color on the squirrels I blended Distress Oxide Inks Vintage Photo and Weathered Wood.  I did use red cardstock to die cut the birds.

Next, I used Simon Says Stamp Lil' Gnome die to cut out all of my gnome parts!  I used the solid gnome die to cut out a piece of white cardstock for a base for each.  I then chose different patterned and solid papers for the hats and bodies of the gnomes.  I used white cardstock for their noses, which I inked with Distress Oxide Ink Tattered Rose.  I used white cardstock for their beards as well, which I inked just around the edges with Distress Oxide Ink Weathered Wood.  After assembling the gnomes, I added a color coordinating pearl to the ends of their caps, and popped them up on foam tape for some dimension!

I stamped the sentiment from SSS Gnome for the Holidays stamp set onto white cardstock.  For the tag with the pink gnome I used gray pigment ink, for the tag with the red and green gnome I used black pigment ink, and clear heat embossed both for some shine!  I backed the sentiment on matching paper and adhered them to my tags with foam tape.

I actually didn't add any extra glitter to these tags!  Between the glitter paste and white glitter cardstock, they are pretty sparkly as is!  Thank you and I hope you enjoyed my tags today!
