Hi everyone! I am up on the Pawsome Stamps blog today! I just love the Prickly Friends Stamp Set, and I love adding the adorable faces to the cacti!
To start this card I die cut a piece of kraft cardstock with a slimline window die. The die itself cuts the cardstock to 8.5" by 3.5" so my smooth white cardstock panel measures 8.75" by 3.75". I laid the die cut kraft cardstock over the white cardstock, marking the edges of the windows with a pencil. I used my purple tape to mask off the edges of the white cardstock and blended Distress Inks Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, and Squeezed Lemonade in each of the window markings. I then splattered some gold watercolor paint on my ink blended panel and set it aside to dry.
Next, I stamped out all of the super cute cacti from the Prickly Friends Stamp Set, colored them with Copic markers, and cut them out with their coordinating die set.
I cut two banners out of black cardstock and gold heat embossed the sentiments. Using these two sentiments together made me laugh!
With all of my pieces complete, it was time to assemble my card! I cut a piece of darker kraft cardstock to 9" by 4" for my cardbase on which I adhered the ink blended panel. I used thin foam tape to pop up the kraft cardstock windows, and sentiments banners. I then adhered the smaller cacti with liquid glue, and the larger cacti with foam tape.
For finishing touches on this card I added white gel pen accents, glitter on the cacti's flowers, and a few sparkling sequins from the Captivating Cactus Sequin Mix! Thank you so much and I hope you enjoyed my card today!
