Inky Paws Challenge #139 - Cozy Winter Theme

 Hello Everyone!  This is my first challenge as a Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge Team Member and I am so excited to help inspire fellow card makers to join the challenge!  You have until Friday, January 15th to get your entries in and have a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs online shop!  This is Inky Paws Challenge #139 - Cozy Winter Theme.

What can be more cozy on a cold winter day than curling up in front of a nice warm fire for a nap with your best furry friend?  I knew when I started this card what I wanted it to look like so I began by cutting a piece of kraft cardstock to 4 3/4" x 6 3/4".  I used NND Hardwood stencil with Distress Oxide Inks Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain on the kraft cardstock.  I inked the edges with Walnut Stain as well.  I die cut a piece of red cardstock using the scalloped square die from NND Frames Squared die set and adhered it to the stenciled kraft cardstock.  I used the smaller of the two stitched squares, also from the NND Frames Squared die set, to cut a piece of Copic friendly white paper.  Next, I stamped the super adorable NND Fireside Friends image and colored it with Copic markers.  When I was done coloring, I adhered my colored piece to the red scalloped square.  

I then used NND Frames and Flags die set to cut a banner for the sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment in brown pigment ink and clear heat embossed for some shine.  I inked the edges of the banner with Walnut Stain Distress Oxide Ink and adhered it to my card with foam tape for some dimension.  I added the ribbon to my card, tucking it under the sentiment banner.  After adhering the ribbon and bow I attached my card to a 5" x 7" base of chocolate glitter cardstock for a bit of sparkle!
